LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) jointly organised a four-day training programme, titled ‘Train the Trainer’ at the Regional Training Center (RTC) LESCO to improve professional capabilities and awareness at work place.
The programme, held from Nov10 to Nov12, was supervised by ADB’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) consultant, Afshan Saeed. The objective of the training was to enhance the professional capabilities of LESCO’s field and technical staff, raise awareness about workplace safety principles, and strengthen leadership and guidance skills. Assistant managers, line superintendents (LS-I), and substation operators (SSOs) from LESCO participated in the programme.
LESCO Chief Executive Ramzan Butt while speaking on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the ADB, LESCO’s HSE Department, and the RTC administration, saying that such training programs will serve as a milestone in promoting a safe, efficient, and professional work environment within LESCO. Ramzan Butt was of the view that continuous learning and skill enhancement are essential for ensuring organizational performance and employee safety. “The training programme placed special focus on topics such as safety, behaviour-based safety, and stress management, as nothing is more valuable than human life,” he said.
Commending the role of the RTC, he added that the LESCO is taking exemplary measures through its training centers to enhance the efficiency and capacity of its employees. He distributed certificates among the participants who successfully completed the training. At the concluding ceremony, the CEO distributed certificates among the participants who successfully completed the training.
The ceremony was attended by HRD Masooma Adil, DG Admin Huma Cheema, Director Safety Fawad Khalid, and RTC Principal Major Aurangzeb Tanveer, along with other senior officers.
