My top 10 things to watch Thursday, June 12 1. We’re on pace for a lower open this morning as investors take in President Donald Trump’s latest tariff threats and the latest economic data. The dollar index dropped about 1%. The S & P 500 snapped a three-session win streak yesterday. 2. The producer price index for May came in cooler than expected, up 0.1% month over month versus the 0.2% estimate. Initial jobless claims were roughly in line at 248,000 on a seasonally adjusted basis. Continuing jobless claims of 1.96 million are at the highest level since November 2021. 3. Boeing shares under pressure following news of an Air India 787-8 Dreamliner crashing shortly after taking off from India. Suppliers to Boeing are also down on the news. The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. 4. Wedbush upped its price target on Oklo to $75 a share from $55 after the nuclear tech firm said it struck an agreement with the Department of Defense to build a reactor in Alaska. Wedbush noted the Trump administration is increasing its focus on nuclear to meet AI needs. Club name GE Vernova has a nuclear business. 5. Oracle shares are nearing all-time highs this morning on the back of a strong earnings report last night. It reported a beat on sales and earnings, while lifting its fiscal 2026 revenue outlook. Cloud services revenue jumped 27% in the quarter to $6.74 billion. Lots of price-target bumps from analysts. 6. Evercore ISI named NXP Semiconductors a top idea and raised its price target on the stock to $289 a share from $237. Analysts believe that NXP, which serves markets including automotive and telecom, should see its fundamentals inflect. 7. Club name Meta Platforms has hired Jack Rae, a researcher at Google’s DeepMind AI unit, to join its new “superintelligence” division, Bloomberg News reported . This follows news that Meta invested a whopping $14.8 billion to acquire a 49% stake in Scale AI to help build out the new unit tasked with the goal of achieving a more advanced form of AI. 8. Club holding Microsoft is working on a Copilot AI system designed for use by the Pentagon, Business Insider reported . Earlier this week, the news outlet reported a Microsoft executive said the company was working on a deal with a big customer to bring on 1 million Copilot users. It was unable to verify whether the Pentagon is that customer. 9. There’s a bond auction set for 1 p.m. ET today, with $22 billion in 30-year Treasury notes going up for sale. It will be interesting to see how this plays out against the backdrop of the Trump administration trying to get it’s tax bill passed. BMO said yesterday’s 10-year note auction was “strong.” 10. Bank of America downgraded Slim Jim and Banquet owner Conagra Brands to an underperform sell rating and lowered its price target to $20 a share from $27. Analysts are worried about commodity inflation on proteins and limited pricing power for frozen meals.
