Manhattan Communications Pvt Ltd (MCL) announces its affiliation with Müller’s Digital Creative Network (MDCN), as per a press release. This strategic partnership positions MCL as a key player within MDCN’s expanding regional network, enabling the Pakistani agency to deliver greater value through innovative digital and creative solutions.

PTCL partners with Dell Technologies

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has teamed up with renowned technology solutions provider DWP Technologies, according to a press release, to integrate software-driven enterprise and mid-tier storage platforms from Dell Technologies to modernise its data centre infrastructure.

A signing ceremony was held in Islamabad to formalise the partnership, attended by Jafar Khalid, Group Chief Technology and Information Officer, PTCL & Ufone, 4G, and Rohail Bashir, Chief Operating Officer, DWP Technologies, along with senior management from PTCL Group, DWP and Dell Technologies.

As part of its ongoing digital transformation journey, PTCL is focused on upgrading its storage infrastructure to boost operational efficiency, enhance performance, and ensure scalability to meet the growing data demands of its network. This modernisation effort will streamline PTCL’s operations and solidify its position as a leader in the telecommunications sector. The current mission-critical platform and ecosystem supporting PTCL and Ufone 4G, which spans three sites using enterprise replication services, will remain fully supported and maintained throughout this initiative, ensuring uninterrupted operations and business continuity.

Habib University’s 8th convocation ceremony

Habib University proudly hosted its 8th Convocation Ceremony on June 1, 2025, at a local hotel celebrating the academic achievements and transformative journeys of the Class of 2025, as announced in a press release.

This year’s convocation highlighted the power of a reparative curriculum rooted in Yohsin — the philosophy of thoughtful self-cultivation. The ceremony was attended by distinguished faculty, proud families, and prominent members of the academic and civic community.

In his address, Habib University President Wasif Rizvi challenged conventional notions of progress: “What we often call progress is merely a more efficient form of cruelty. Behind the polished façade of modernity — celebrated by a multi-trillion-dollar PR machine — lies a 500-year campaign of relentless extraction: of resources, bodies, and meaning.

Halan Microfinance Bank’s new license

Halan Microfinance Bank, a Pakistani microfinance bank owned by MNT-Halan, Egypt, and the Middle East and North African region’s first fintech unicorn, has received a national licence from the State Bank of Pakistan, allowing it to expand outside of the Sindh province to the rest of the country, a recent press release details.

The national licence permits the bank to launch and manage financial services, including branchless banking, cards, mobile banking, retailer-based transactions, and wallet services. These services will complement the bank’s current product suite, which includes microfinance, salary advances, pensions, current accounts, and savings accounts.

The bank offers funding specifically for women, agricultural workers, and commercial vehicles. This inclusive model enables micro-entrepreneurs, small traders, and low-income segments to achieve financial independence, often without collateral.

MG Pakistan overcomes delays

In response to recent geopolitical disruptions, as explained in a shared press release, MG Pakistan has been airlifting critical vehicle components to meet consumer demands. These proactive measures were taken to minimise delays in the delivery of the MG HS PHEV – True Hybrid Electric, Pakistan’s first locally assembled plug-in hybrid.

The ongoing geopolitical situation caused temporary shipment rerouting, resulting in minor delays in select colour variants and the delivery of free 7KW chargers. In light of these challenges, MG Pakistan responded decisively by airlifting essential kits and components to resume production at full capacity.

MG Pakistan expressed gratitude to its valued customers for their patience, trust, and confidence.
