KARACHI: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has started producing 1,100 barrels of oil per day from its latest development well, Pasakhi-14, situated in the Hyderabad district of Sindh. The well falls under the Pasakhi & Pasakhi North Development & Production Lease (D&PL), where OGDC holds a full 100 percent working interest.
According to the company, Pasakhi-14 was delineated, drilled and tested using in-house technical expertise. The well was drilled to a depth of 2,183 metres to explore the hydrocarbon potential of the upper sands of the Lower Goru formation.
To improve accuracy and efficiency, OGDC deployed advanced drilling technologies, including a Rotary Steerable System (RSS), Electromagnetic Measure-ment While Drilling (MWD), and a nitrified mud system—used for the first time by the company. These tools enabled precise directional drilling, safeguarded formation integrity and contributed to the well’s strong production performance. The well is completed with state-of-the-art Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) technology.
