The Technical Inspection Departments will function from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) revealed the official working hours for its public service departments during the holy month of Ramadan. The General Directorate of Passports and its related departments will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Similarly, the Department of Nationality and Travel Documents will also operate during these hours.
The Technical Inspection Departments will function from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the Driver’s License Department at Driving Schools will have a schedule from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Vehicle Number Plate Workshop located in Ain Khaled will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, the workshops for number plate manufacturing in Al-Aqda, Al-Wakra, and Al-Mazroua will operate from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Vehicle Registration Counter at the main traffic building will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the General Counter and the Violations Counter will both operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The External Services Department’s main branch in Al Mamoura will follow the same hours, whereas other branches of the External Services Department will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Criminal Evidence and Information Department will also operate from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Notably, the Ministry’s Traffic Investigation section will provide services around the clock.

Qatar sets working hours for public sector, government schools
Earlier this week, Qatar’s Cabinet has announced the working hours for civil servants during this sacred period.
According to the announcement, civil servants will work a 5-hour day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Employees have the option to begin their workday as late as 10 a.m., provided they meet work obligations and complete the required 5 hours.
Remote work is allowed for up to 30 percent of the workforce, with priority given to Qatari mothers and individuals with disabilities, while ensuring that operational needs are met. The Ministry of Public Health will establish specific working hours and schedules tailored to their operational requirements.
In a similar vein, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has released the official working hours for government schools and kindergartens during Ramadan for the academic year 2024-2025.
For students, the hours in government schools and kindergartens will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., while administrative and teaching staff will work from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These timings have been chosen to maximize academic benefits for students while also respecting the unique nature of the holy month.
