Air India investigates passenger who urinated on Japanese man on New Delhi to Bangkok flight

A disturbing event occurred on an Air India flight on Wednesday, when a business class passenger reportedly urinated on another traveller, prompting an investigation by both the airline and government authorities.

The incident happened on flight AI2336 from New Delhi to Bangkok, despite the cabin’s lavatories being fully functional, according to local media reports.

According to NDTV, the 24-year-old Indian national was drunk when he stood up and relieved himself on a Japanese businessman seated near him. Another passenger next to the businessman was also affected.

Senior cabin crew members responded by providing towels for clean-up and escorting the Japanese passenger to the lavatory to change his clothes. The perpetrator was relocated to another seat.

Crew members offered to help the affected passenger file a formal complaint with Bangkok authorities, but he declined, The Indian Express reported.

Following the incident, Air India issued a statement confirming that they had reported the matter to India’s civil aviation safety regulator.

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said that authorities would investigate, adding that “if there is any wrongdoing, we will take necessary action”.
