ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will hold an auction of commercial and residential plots in Islamabad from December 22 to 24, 2025, as Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Tuesday briefed representatives of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), investors, builders and real estate developers on the investment opportunities being offered.
The meeting, attended by CDA board members, senior officials and ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mahmood, focused on encouraging investment in the federal capital and providing details of the plots to be offered in the auction. These include commercial plots in major business centres, Blue Area and Northern Strip E-11, petrol pumps, agro farm plots, ready shops at the Blue Area Parking Plaza, as well as residential plots in fully developed sectors F-10 and G-10.
Addressing the participants, Randhawa said that revenue generated from the auction would be utilised for the development and uplift of Islamabad. He assured investors that all facilities would be provided on a priority basis after the auction and noted that uplift work had already been initiated in all major commercial centres of the city. He also highlighted future initiatives, including construction of a cricket stadium, development of seven-star hotels, introduction of e-stamping, promotion of a cashless economy and digitisation of land records.
He said Islamabad offered strong investment potential in the hotel industry, real estate and tourism sectors, adding that CDA was committed to providing equal and attractive opportunities to investors and strengthening their confidence in the federal capital. Investors and builders shared their concerns and proposals, which the chairman assured, would be reviewed and, where feasible, implemented through mutual consultation.
On another occasion, Chairman CDA reviewed the near-completion work on the T-Chowk Flyover project along with Member Engineering Syed Nifasat Raza and senior officials. He was informed that the project had entered its final stages ahead of schedule, with finishing work, landscaping, horticulture and installation of permanent decorative lighting under way. Preparations for the formal inauguration are in progress, after which the flyover will be opened to the public. Randhawa said the project would facilitate signal-free entry into Islamabad from GT Road and benefit commuters from the twin cities as well as Punjab.
