Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal on Tuesday inaugurated third edition of International Food and Agriculture Exhibition, FoodAg 2025, at the Expo Centre Karachi.
The three-day event, running from November 25-27, 2025, brings together over 500 exhibitors and more than 850 international buyers from over 80 countries under the theme “Harvesting Innovation, Cultivating Sustainability.” The exhibition is organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) under the Ministry of Commerce.
After the ceremonial curtain raise, the commerce minister toured the exhibition halls and interacted with exhibitors and viewed the diverse range of products on display, the Press Information Department (PID), Sindh, said in a press release.
Minister Kamal, speaking to the media, said that representatives from nearly all major countries are in Pakistan, reflecting strong global confidence in the country’s trade and economic potential. Over 850 foreign delegates participated, many recognising the vast opportunities in Pakistan’s agriculture and industrial sectors.
The minister noted that Pakistani companies have shown significant progress in recent years, improving value-added products and earning international shelf space. He emphasised the need to further enhance both the volume and quality of exports.

“Despite challenges, Pakistani companies are advancing rapidly, supported by the government,” he said. “The prime minister is leading efforts to ensure economic stability, structural reforms, and balanced governance in close coordination with the provinces a success story across sectors.”
He said the government continues to review economic challenges closely. Efforts are underway to reduce electricity tariffs, while interest rates and inflation have decreased. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently abolished the EFS surcharge, meeting a long-standing demand of exporters, and Pakistan is actively renegotiating old FTAs, he said.
The minister said new FTAs with the GCC have been approved, and trade and investment cooperation with the United States continues to expand. For the first time, a trade map has been developed with the United Kingdom, with technical committees engaged at the secretary level. Pakistan has also accessed new African markets and held a successful single-country exhibition in Ethiopia, he maintained.
Kamal highlighted Pakistan’s steady path toward macro and micro economic stability, with both federal and provincial governments collaborating to strengthen the economy. He also addressed a minor technical issue during the exhibition’s opening ceremony, assuring accountability.
The record buyer delegation includes top importers from Asia (over 300, led by major Chinese state and private companies, Malaysia’s BERNAS, Indonesia’s PT Laris Manis Utama and Sri Lankan conglomerates), Europe (Surya Foods – Europe’s largest basmati buyer, AIB Foods, Aytac Foods, Schepens & Co Belgium and Migros Türkiye), the Middle East and GCC (Mercury Me DMCC, Sunder Trading Qatar, D Ocean Fisheries Bahrain), Africa (over 200 buyers from Kenya, Somalia, Cameroon, Angola, Rwanda, Mauritius and others), as well as key players from Australia, Canada, USA and Russia.
FoodAg 2025 event is designed to spotlight cutting-edge advancements in food production, processing, and exports, while positioning Pakistan as a key contributor to global food security, the PID said in a statement.
With Pakistan recording US$8.3 billion in agro-product exports during 2023-24, the exhibition comes at a crucial time for the country’s agricultural transformation.
