My top 10 things to watch Tuesday, April 29 1. Wall Street was headed for a muted open, with the S & P 500 on a five-session winning streak. However, with two trading sessions left, including today, the index was tracking lower for the month on the whims of Washington . In a morning news conference, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reiterated that trade deals could be coming soon and said India is very close. 2. Honeywell shares rose 4% after the Club industrial name reported a positive quarter. The results are a first step in the right direction, but I’m worried these early gains won’t hold. 3. Starbucks reports earnings Tuesday evening. Progress on CEO Brian Niccol’s turnaround efforts will be center stage, along with any updates on how the Club name will be handling its China problems . 4. After PepsiCo cut its outlook last week, Coca-Cola kept its full-year forecast, saying tariffs should be manageable. As for the quarter, Coke announced before the opening bell beats on the top and bottom lines. 5. Novo Nordisk will offer its weight loss drug Wegovy via Hims & Hers , which soared 30%, and others. The move matches that of Club name Eli Lilly . Novo and Lilly have their own direct-to-consumer channels as well. 6. Ahead of Apple earnings, which are out Thursday evening, the tech giant got a big price target boost from Morgan Stanley. There were also positive developments out of Washington yesterday. 7. UBS analysts cut their price target on Club stock Amazon to $253 per share from $272, worried about a tariff-driven slowdown. But isn’t that why the stock has already been crushed? Amazon also reports Thursday evening. 8. United Parcel Service beat on quarterly earnings but also cut 20,000 jobs and shuttered 73 leased and owned buildings to lower costs. UPS cited economic uncertainty and weak volumes ahead from Amazon. 9. General Motors delivered quarterly earnings and revenue beats but said it’s reassessing guidance due to tariffs. In a statement today, the Trump administration said it aims to reduce the impact of auto tariffs. 10. Warren Buffett holds Berkshire Hathaway ‘s annual meeting Saturday. It could be a positive event, so you have to be careful selling into it. But I think he will talk about how there is nothing to buy.
