A Russian vlogger has been arrested amid a raft of complaints, including of causing a nuisance and attempted theft, lodged against him after he reportedly harassed Filipinos in his live stream.
The cases were filed by security officers and guards at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City, police spokeswoman Major Hazel Asilo told local news network GMA News Online on Friday.
Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, 33, was arrested on Wednesday by the Bureau of Immigration over being an “undesirable” foreign visitor. He now faces deportation and blacklisting.
His social media posts over the past week had sparked backlash, after he appeared to harass and insult Filipinos around Bonifacio Global City and Boracay for content, local media reported.
In one video, Zdorovetskiy threatens to rob a Filipino woman before calling her a “liberal f***” for wearing a face mask.
He also posted videos of him harassing security guards in the city by stealing their caps and jumping on a patrol motorcycle.
“We have read the online outrage and we coordinated with other authorities for proper actions against the suspect. We cannot just let this incident pass,” Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director Major General Nicolas Torre III said in a statement.
