LAHORE: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) has going to hold the first ‘Made in Pakistan: SME Cluster Showcase 2026’ – a three-day landmark exhibition on Jan 24-26 at Lahore Expo Centre.

According to SMEDA CEO Ms Nadia Jahangir Seth the exhibition aims to strengthen the country’s micro, small and medium enterprise ecosystem, as per SME development vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, which is being implemented in the direct leadership of SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan and Secretary MoIP Saif Anjum.

The expo, she said, is envisioned as a multi-year national platform that will evolve over time from product visibility and cluster recognition into structured B2B partnerships, subcontracting ecosystems, export readiness and global buyer linkages.

She hoped that the exhibition would expand market access and position SME clusters as a structured and competitive pillar of the national economy.

CEO SMEDA said that Pakistan’s SMEs form the backbone of economy and are concentrated in regional and sectoral clusters but most of them, especially women-led businesses and micro enterprises, face challenges related to visibility, investment readiness and access to high-value domestic and international markets.

The ‘Cluster Showcase’ aims to bridge these gaps by providing a high-impact platform that will connect SMEs with corporate buyers, policymakers, investors, financial institutions and international stakeholders, CEO SMEDA explained.

The organizing team is confident that Pakistan’s first national SME cluster exhibition will develop a baseline to promote local products and strengthen competitiveness in line with the government vision. Over three days, the event will combine a national exhibition with business matchmaking and policy dialogue, the organizers added.

The SMEs related to agro-food and processing, textiles and handicraft, surgical instruments and light engineering, leather and leather products, furniture, marble & granite, ICT and services from all over the country are being selected to participate in the Expo through the recognized trade bodies, who were asked to nominate the SME exhibitors, demonstrating quality, innovation or market readiness, with special preference to the women-led micro enterprises.
