First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with Chief Executive Officer Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Mohammad Saif Al-Sowaidi in Doha.
During the meeting, they discussed avenues for enhancing investment cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar, particularly in energy, infrastructure and technology sectors, the media wing of the President of Pakistan reported on Thursday.
The first lady appreciated QIA’s growing portfolio in Pakistan and welcomed its interest in expanding partnerships that could contribute to sustainable economic development and job creation.
Al-Sowaidi reaffirmed QIA’s commitment to exploring new opportunities for collaboration and strengthening economic ties between the two brotherly countries.
Zardari’s Qatar visit: Cooperation in agri-food security proposed
Aseefa and Bilawal accompanied President Asif Ali Zardari during his visit to Doha. Zardari embarked on Qatar visit from November 4 to 6 to participate in the World Summit for Social Development.
The summit was attended by world leaders with the aim to redoubling global efforts toward achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
During the visit, the president also discussed bilateral relations, investment, defence cooperation, and regional matters.
Senior Qatari officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar saw off President Zardari at the Doha International Airport at the conclusion of his visit.
