US restaurant chain Hawaiian Bros is expanding its footprint by opening its first island-inspired franchise in Waukee in the state of Iowa.

This is the second Hawaiian Bros location in the Iowa market launched by BraveHart Development.

Under the franchise agreement signed in April 2023, BraveHart is to open ten in the state.

The opening event on 10 March will feature giveaways, including a gift card ranging from $25 to $500 for the first 100 customers and a t-shirt.

One of the customers will win Hawaiian Bros meals for a year.

The new Waukee location will operate from 11am to 10pm, Sunday to Thursday, and from 11am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

A VIP event was held on 8 March 2025, offering the classic plate lunch to first responders, medical personnel, academic staff, students and local business employees.

BraveHart Development partner David Pedelty stated: “We are looking forward to continue expanding with the second BraveHart Hospitality opening of a Hawaiian Bros location in Iowa.

“As part of our ambitious plan to establish 10 locations across Iowa over the next few years, we are excited to share our island-inspired flavours and the Aloha Spirit with the Waukee community.”

Hawaiian Bros’ island-inspired plate lunch features chicken or pork with a choice of sweet, savoury or spicy sauces, accompanied by macaroni salad, steamed white rice or vegetables and a tropical Dole Soft Serve dessert.

At the start of 2025, Hawaiian Bros opened its fourth restaurant through its franchise agreement with Ohana Restaurant Group, located in Bentonville, Arkansas.

The brand operates 60 restaurants across the US.

In November 2024, Hawaiian Bros expanded in Phoenix, Arizona, with its fifth franchise at 4445 E Thomas Rd, and opened its first franchise in Wichita, Kansas.

“Hawaiian Bros opens first island-inspired franchise in Waukee, Iowa ” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
